Bush And Pawlenty: The Veto Twins

No matter how much he tries to pretend he’s Not Like Bush, Minnesota’s own Smilin’ Tim Pawlenty just can’t stop showing how much he emulates Mister Twenty-Eight Percent:
- Like Bush, he has at best a razor-thin mandate.
- Like Bush, his power base was seriously eroded when the public put Democrats in charge of both Houses.
- Like Bush, he’s in the habit of vetoing legislation favored by the voters (here, here, and here).
- Like Bush, he has just enough of a Republican bench to sustain most of his vetoes – and is arrogant about it.
Let’s wipe the smirks off both their faces, shall we?
