Quote of the day

One of the best reads on the web is Tanta at Calculated Risk. Today, she takes after a guy who calls himself “The Mortgage Professor,” but seems to be a few credits short of a high school degree. As she says, “No way that kind of hubris is going unpunished today” and goes on to demonstrate her skills as Nemesis.
The whole thing is worth a read if you can endure some minimal wonkery, but the line that earns a quote of the day award is this is her characterization of the “Professor’s” slackjawed, indifferent attitude toward the mortgage crisis, a crisis which is unprecedented in the post-war era. She says of reading him:
“It’s like dropping acid without the amusement value.”
A lot of life under the Bush era could be described that way.

She’s worth reading just for the snark.
It’s hard to pick out particular passages, but her Prudence v. Spendy comparisons are priceless.
