Look and see what they’re accusing Democrats of doing.
To wit: We find that Will Perry, the son of fabulously rich Swift Boat sugar daddy Bob Perry, is filing for bankruptcy to get out from under a divorce settlement. Hey, maybe if Daddy Bob hadn’t dropped nearly $20 million in the last four years into his pet conservative causes, his poor little darling son wouldn’t be forced out into the street.
What? You say that Will really isn’t that poor, but is just trying to hide his assets from his ex? How cynical of you!

I’m guessing the divorce judge is cynical [read: experienced] enough to figure it out pretty quickly and come down on Li’l Will with stompy feet. Judges take a dim view of such maneuverings.
It would be very satisfying, however, if the judge doesn’t have to respond because draconian bankruptcy laws enacted when Congress was controlled by Republicans derails his scheme.

Well, it’s possible, I suppose.
One can only transfer 12K/year without triggering the gift and estate tax. A lot of the wealthy don’t even take advantage of that provision of the law (and then complain about the high estate tax).
