Sideshow Bob’s Last Stand?
Posted by Phoenix Woman on August 31, 2008
The mayors of St. Paul and Minneapolis, upon seeing some of the rather overwrought actions by the cops in Denver, promised a more restrained demeanor by our own law enforcers.
They apparently reckoned without Sideshow Bob Fletcher, for whom the boundaries between city and county, or county and other county, are nonexistent when it comes to kicking in doors for fun. When you’re a guy who just lost two of your buddies to a five-year-long FBI investigation that’s coming closer to your own self, and you’re a mindless thug and bully anyway, there’s not much keeping you in check.

I suspect that pre-emptively raiding and arresting a houseful of legal observers, on the basis that they are meeting to plan and organize perfectly legal political activities, may turn out not altogether to Fletcher’s advantage.
Any idea where one could contribute to a defense fund?

I think a false arrest fund might be more appropriate, Joel. Although I did see a MN police department spokesman on one of the raids, so maybe they did bother with some of the legal niceties.
