Reuters: Foreign remittances have fallen in July to their lowest level in 10 years. Since they are the second largest part of the Mexican economy after petroleum, and on an equal par with foreign investment, this bodes ill for the economy.

Enrique Méndez y Jesús Aranda , La Jornada: Lopez Obrador alleges that Pemex is being drained by dirty tricks, including the purchase of a 28-year old single-hulled tanker for four times its market value. Furthermore, despite having contracted with the likes of Schlumberger and Halliburton for 5 billion dollars to increase gas output by 50%, it has risen by only 4% over 5 years.
