    All the responses to this news that I’ve seen so far were along the lines of “So if they had the plan, why didn’t they do something sooner?”

    After eight years of that gang, my thought was, “They were hoping for (or even encouraging) a financial meltdown because it would give them the opportunity to grab yet more dictatorial powers for the Executive Branch.”

    Because how many times have they done that already?
