Glenn Beck: Great Depression occurred in 1948

I would not have believed that any American with a high-school education was so poorly informed, but Glenn Beck actually believes that the Great Depression happened in 1948.
Maybe there’s a reason he dropped out of Yale.

I have no doubt Glenn Beck also believes the Great Depression was Franklin Roosevelt’s fault, and Harry Truman made it worse.

Yep, just make up the news and the masses will follow. I wonder how many of his listeners knew the real date?

MEC, I am amazed that people this stupid can dress themselves. A key tenet of right-wing economic dogma is that the US only emerged from the Great Depression because of World War II. So, any right-winger asserting that the Great Depression occurred in 1948 must also believe that time is going backward.
In Glenn Beck’s case, I guess it could be true. He certainly doesn’t seem to belong to this universe.

Heck, Rush Limbaugh got away with pinning Ruby Ridge on Bill Clinton.

Rush Limbaugh’s losers… er, listeners… all take Rohypnol before tuning in.

The certainly wish it were — straight back to the era of Robber Barons and lynchings.
