Important information for serving military
Posted by Charles II on January 23, 2010
The following, being sent to you for your information, was forwarded
from the Executive Director of NASDVA, who read an article in the
Standard Examiner(Ogden Utah) by Tom Philpott in his Military update
column indicating 185,000 veterans who were kept in the military
involuntarily beyond their enlistment or retirement are entitled to a
retroactive payment of $500 for each extra month they were required to
serve — sadly, only 15,000 have applied to for this Retroactive Stop
Loss Special Pay. The deadline to apply is October 21 2010. The average
paid to Army veterans so far is $4500.
A DOD article on this issue lists where Veterans can go to apply for
this payment.
Army: Go to https://www.stoplosspay.army.mil or email
RetroStopLossPay@CONUS.Army.Mil
Navy: Email NXAG_N132C@navy.mil
Marine Corps: Go to https://www.manpower.usmc.mil/stoploss or email
stoploss@usmc.mil
Air Force: Go to http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/stoploss/
