Lightfoot’s skin’s looking a bit saggy, poor thing. Is she eating well?
And Alex is, well, Alex. :-)

It’s more that Lightfoot’s fur has that raggedy “spring shedding” look. She was up bright and early to lead me into the kitchen for her breakfast this morning.

Let shedding season begin!

Compared to Sweety Girl, Lady Lightfoot looks like a fashion model.
In our last thrilling episode, Sweety Girl decided that any and all attempts to comb out her gawdawful fur mats would be terminated. Along with the miscreant who attempted the sacrilege.
With extreme prejudice.
The available catstaff has already seen entirely too much of hospital ERs when his gall bladder went sour on him a few years back. So he decided that discretion was the better part of valor.
Three guesses what her fur looks like now. But I’ll be you only need one. :(
OTOH, Graymouse .. yup, the very same Graymouse who jumps six feet into the air when the catstaff so much as drops a plastic measuring cup .. has fur that looks pretty decent. Even though his undercoat problem is far worse than Sweety Girl’s.
Since he decided that he actually enjoyed getting his fur combed.

Stormcrow, get one of those letter openers that has a razor blade embedded behind a plastic spear that slips under the envelope flap so the razor can slice open the envelope. It’s a good tool for slicing off fur mats without risk of slicing the cat or jabbing her with a sharp point.

For a moment, I thought you were referring to the tractor, PW. The idea of using a tractor for hair mats didn’t quite click.
