That’s right: 68% of all newly-installed European electricity generation in 2011 was either wind or solar.
Sounds like the plan to get Europe off of coal and oil is proceeding quite nicely.

Not to mention nuclear. Germany is on the way to the exits, and France is sure to follow. Grudgingly.

Yup. I give Merkel credit for this: When Fukushima hit, she immediately slammed on the brakes WRT nukes and then upped Germany’s renewables program, which she’d been trying to cut.

How much of an increase in non-nuke energy has that been since Fukushima?
What’s their rate of increase in non-nuke energy compared to ours?
