Minnesota, for example.

And Minnesota’s one of the better states in that regard. New York’s the worst.

Not even close. New York is fifth in income inequality.

I see. Gini coefficient (in your 24/7 Wall Street link) vs. ratio of top and bottom quintiles (CBPP).
Gini is more widely used, but harder to conceptualize. Strangely, the worst state per CBPP is not even on the top 10 of the 24/7 Wall Street list. Here’s a complete Gini list. And worst of all is not even a state. It’s the District of Columbia.
