As Tula Connell said in her Firedoglake post, the bill has 231 co-sponsors. Let’s see, there are 435 House members, and 50% of that is 218… I think this bill is going to pass. So the question is, how do we keep the Senate Republicans from filibustering it?

Remove 20 of them in 2008.

  3. Kagro X suggested, WRT the filbuster of the non-binding resolution on Iraq (and the likely filibuster of anything the Democrats propose), that the Democrats hold hostage the GOP’s judicial nominations until the filibuster was called off. It’s a win-win: If the GOP chooses the war over the judges, the Federalist Society is thwarted; if the GOP chooses the judges over the war, our troops come home.
