A Tale Of Three Johns

Posted by Phoenix Woman on March 11, 2008

If you Google “David Vitter prostitute“, you get around 30,000 references to the sex scandal that broke last July involving a sitting Republican Senator known for his straight-arrow “family values” image. Senator Vitter has yet to resign.

If you Google Larry Craig prostitute, you get just under 48,000 references to the sex scandal that broke last August involving another sitting Republican Senator known for his straight-arrow “family values” image. Senator Craig has yet to resign.

But if you Google “Eliot Spitzer prostitute“, you get over 261,000 references to the sex scandal involving a sitting Democratic governor with a straight-arrow image, and that scandal isn’t even 48 hours old yet.

Clearly, Spitzer could be free and clear right now if he’d only been a Republican. It’s really the ultimate Get Out Of Jail Free card. Just ask Don Siegelman.

Context must be like Kryptonite to you.

Context being that both men were discovered to be frequenting prostitutes?

That happens to be true for many, many, many politicians.

There are good reasons to believe that Spitzer was targeted by the Bush Administration because he was a member of the opposition party, Troy. If that possibility doesn’t bother you, please find another country to call home.

Heh, the file labels are more entertaining than the drivel that proceeds!

Name one of those good reasons. Personally, I think he was targeted by Santa Clause. And Charles, if that possiblity doesnt bother you, please find another country to call home. And dont let the door hit you on the way out.

Dumbass. If Spitzer was a Republican and was treated the way you seem to wish he had been treated, you would be screaming impeachment.

Buzz, if you were actually willing to debate the issue rather than being a hit-and-run artist, I’d go into detail.

As it is, I will supply a link to Scott Horton on one of the reasons why this looks so political, just so that anyone else who reads this thread will know you were answered but weren’t honest or decent enough to stay around to take responsibility for your ignorant words.

You may have missed it, Charles II, but the article mentions three men. Did one of them do some money laundering to hide their misdeeds?

“That happens to be true for many, many, many politicians.”

How many is “many, many, many”? A majority? If it is a majority, should it be alright then? Or should it only be alright if they did not have “family values” images? Or does their party come into the equation somehow?

“There are good reasons to believe that Spitzer was targeted by the Bush Administration because he was a member of the opposition party, Troy. If that possibility doesn’t bother you, please find another country to call home.”

That is a really cute “test for citizenship” you have there. Must all people of this country be bothered by this “possibility” or leave? I submit that they do not, regardless of how “honest” and “decent” you may be. Please feel free to play the victim all you want, but don’t expect everyone to be as “bother”-ed about it as you are.
