* Democrats stood up to the president on wiretapping and held firm. Republicans went mad with glee, ran a media blitz attacking the defeatocrats, staked a special election on the issue and lost. Now the GOP is giving up entirely.
* Apparently there is a way for a GOP loyalist to fail so spectacularly that nobody will hire him. Heckuva job, Gonzo!
It feels like I fell asleep and woke up somewhere else.
Yeah, like the country that existed pre-Reagan.

It was a nice place, Michael. It was possible for someone like Molly Ivins to have a career with a major newspaper and as a nationally-syndicated columnist, and the few right-wingers that had opinion columns were of the William F. Buckley mold, not the Charles Krauthammer mold.

It’s a new territory for me, I mean. I have nothing to go on but the knowledge that the values that I was raised with are not my values, and finding people that share better ones is part of finding myself.

Sorry to go on, but I don’t think I can say what I did without more, and I do not devalue my family, they are good people who are part of a system, and the system is what I think is wrong.
Everyone is part of a system, and we as Americans are part of a system that has done some very bad things.
