Sorry, Racists, But “Whitey” Is Actually “Why’d He”

Posted by Phoenix Woman on June 3, 2008

Seems that certain people who should know better are peddling the Larry Johnson bullcrap about Michelle Obama and “whitey”. Booman, who up until this week counted himself as a friend of Johnson’s and of his co-blogger SusanHu (who used to be Booman’s co-blogger but pretty much left Booman Tribune after being criticized for posting racist anti-Muslim cartoons; which is sadly ironic, since she was one of the people behind the Abu Ghraib FOIA docs project), debunks the slander:

My old friend, Larry Johnson, knows about manipulating elections from his training with the Central Intelligence Agency. He doesn’t want Obama to win the nomination for whatever reason, and he’s in full propaganda mode to do everything he can to frighten the superdelegates. He claims to have a shocking tape of Michelle Obama ranting in some anti-white diatribe. He promises to produce this tape tomorrow at 9am.

From what I understand, it is a tape of Michelle Obama criticizing the Bush administration.

How you’d write it:

Why did Bush cut folks off medicaid?
Why did Bush let New Orleans drown?
Why did Bush do nothing about Jena?
Why did Bush put us in Iraq for no reason?

How you’d say it:

Why’d he cut folks off medicaid?
Why’d he let New Orleans drown?
Why’d he do nothing about Jena?
Why’d he put us in Iraq for no reason?

How Larry Johnson wants you to hear it:

Whitie cut folks off medicaid?
Whitie let New Orleans drown?
Whitie do nothing about Jena?
Whitie put us in Iraq for no reason?

I’m going to be honest with you. Both SusanHu and Larry Johnson have been friends of mine. They have both done a lot for me and I am grateful and indebted to them. Any issues I’ve had with their activities in this election I have kept private. I haven’t visited their site in four months because I found it too personally painful to read what they were writing and I did not want to be tempted to respond. I thought I owed them that. But loyalty can only go so far. If they publish this allegation tomorrow, I will no longer speak with them. And I say that with great sorrow.

This election has ruined a lot of friendships. I have tried hard not to let it ruin mine. But smears of this type are unforgivable. I have been forebearing. Perhaps, in retrospect, I have been too forebearing. That’s all I say. This is too painful to me.

Well, the 9:00 am deadline came and went, and no tape. Some hints of possible Roger Stone involvement, which as a Booman commenter points out is interesting as Stone gave the world the sexist as hell anti-Hillary group “Citizens United Not Timid”.

This is why No Quarter is no longer on my blogroll. Larry and Susan have spent the past few months inciting hatreds, especially racial hatreds, and passing around slanders as freely as the rest of us breathe. It’s got so bad over there that, I suspect at the behest of his lawyer or the FBI (or quite possibly both), Johnson felt the need to tell his people to stop making death threats against Obama — something he wouldn’t need to do if he ran a clean shop.

UPDATE: Oh, even better — Hillary’s people apparently believe this bull will save them. Yeah, and so will Army Group Steiner.

I am not an Obama fan but I must say the Why’d he makes more sense to me. Michelle Obama is far from stupid, however, concerns remain about WHY DID OBAMA AND FAMILY REMAIN IN THE TRINITY UNITED CHURCH? Something just does not feel right about it to me.

It does seem very possible that Michelle Obama sat on a panel with Farrakhan. Afer all Farrakahn is an important man in Chicago, no? Rev. Wright and friends placed him on the cover of their mag and gave him an award of some sort.

I read LJ’s blog and really don’t think he is a racist. He is just reporting on events and is not a fan of Obama’s. Just because events involve “race” that does not make LJ a racist. Oh my little blog I reported on some items that were listed on Larry’s site and I am not a racist.

A church is more than its pastor. Parishioners develop close ties with one another and with the community as a whole. If Barack Obama has belonged to the church for all those years, it would be a very difficult decision to abandon it. He’d be walking away from friends and his own personal history.

  3. 1) If we’re going to play the “Eeeek! Scary Black Man Kryptonite!” game, guess what? Joe Lieberman has more of a connection to Louis Farrakhan than do the Obamas. Just because Larry and Taylor and Susan and their good buddy Roger Stone say it doesn’t make it so.

    2) If we’re going to play the “Eeeek! Scary Pastor Kryptonite!” game, may I remind you about Hillary’s association — which she has yet to renounce — with Doug Coe?

    3) Oh, yes, indeed, they’re racists. Susan’s no longer at Booman’s shop because of the anti-Muslim garbage she was posting. And here she’s caught recommending the work of a racist YouTuber, “quervodrinker”.

By the way: Did you know that Hillary and Bill called on Jeremiah Wright back in September of 1998, in their hour of greatest need? Funny how they didn’t think he was too much of a rabble-rouser then. Also funny how they repaid his kindness ten years later by using him as a tool.

Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, this story still has legs. And in the left blogosphere, at that.

    Larry Johnson: Pariah or jeremiah?

As for the rest of us, we need to work up answers to two questions. First, just how damning is the use of the term “whitey?”

While worse than “the man,” it’s clearly not as derogatory as “nigger,” a candidate for the worst word in the world. More to the point, we need the expertise of black commentators.

This bit of fabricated race-baiting needs to be buried at the crossroads with a stake through it’s heart. Badly.

The evident fact that this still has not been accomplished, a full day after Hillary’s concession speech, worries me deeply.

If the Dems are still clinging to race-baiting like a drowning man clings to a piece of flotsam, this bodes very poorly both for November and for the future of the country.

Of course, as you know if you’ve been reading my comments here and in other places, you know I’ve pretty much given up that last as a lost cause. If I were in my thirtys with a family rather than in my late fiftys with two cats, I’d probably be writing this from Canada. If not further away than that.

When things really go south here and the blood begins to spill, Canada may not be far enough away.

    Thank you, Michael.

Comments From Left Field just went on my daily reading list.

It’s all very well to speculate on questions beginning with “Why’d he?” but where did THEY come from, who is speaking them and where? If the hurricane Katrina is mentioned, it could not be about any meeting in 2004. Is this ALL speculation? Every bit of it?

    Good point, Ann!

Since the people who claimed to have the video haven’t produced it, I’d bet real money that it doesn’t exist and the incident never happened.

So what she actually said ‘why’d he?’? that is hilarious. People will go to great lengths to have a reason to say the Obamas are wrong for the White house.

I struggle who to vote for at times. Obama seems to have his heart in the right place but I still feel he lacks experience. He was in politics for a little over 3 years, no? And for two of those years he was out on the run trying to get elected. I for one am very excited about Gov. Palin, the GOP got it right this time. At this point in time McCain is getting my vote. I really wanted the Democratic Party in the White House but no matter how much I like Senator Obama I don’t think I can vote for him – I have too many questions and concerns but that could change.

As for comments above……….Yes, I really wonder why Senator Obama and his family remained in such a church. I wonder if the kids heard all that hate talk? As for LJ’s site – I don’t know the people who write there as you seem to know them – I enjoy reading most of the blogs and I don’t find the site to be racist. As for Bill and HIllary with Rev. Wright I heard that too but they did not sit in his church week after week with their daughter. As for LIberman and Farrakhan – I no nothing about that.

    Governor Palin?

The Sarah Palin who is under investigation for firing the Public Safety Commissioner after she couldn’t strongarm him into firing her ex-brother in law?

The Sarah Palin who called Hillary Clinton a whiner?

The Sarah Palin who seems to have edited her own Wikipedia entry to include the claim that Palin has “eyepopping integrity”?

The Sarah Palin who reportedly has no interest in the day-to-day business of governing?

Or are we talking about some other Sarah Palin?

  13. Also, Barack Obama has been in politics a good deal longer than three years.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
