McCain Attacks: FAIL

Posted by Phoenix Woman on July 27, 2008

Well, looky here:

UPDATE: Obama campaign spokeswoman Linda Douglass says, “We told military officials explicitly that Senator Obama had absolutely no attention of bringing any members of the media or photographers in with him to visit the wounded warriors. In all of our communications with the military, we stressed that this was to be a private visit by Senator Obama.”

So the last of McCain’s and the Bush Pentagon’s lies on this has been detonated.

By the way: Chuck Hagel’s denounced this attack by McCain and defends Obama.

McCain Ethics: FAIL

Posted by Phoenix Woman on July 27, 2008

Seems that Big Oil turned on its money spigots for him immediately after he announced in June that he was abandoning his long-held stance against offshore drilling:

Oil and gas industry executives and employees donated $1.1 million to McCain last month — three-quarters of which came after his June 16 speech calling for an end to the ban — compared with $116,000 in March, $283,000 in April and $208,000 in May.

Amazing how that works.

McCain Minders: FAIL

Posted by Phoenix Woman on July 27, 2008

The McCain campaign is looking more and more like it’s being run by writers from The Onion. Check this out:

I can’t make this up.

This is what John McCain’s official advisor Douglas Holtz-Eakin said.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, McCain’s chief economic adviser, says the numbers he provided to the TPC aren’t secret—they’re the same ones he provides to anyone who asks. He also disputes the way the study takes suggestions McCain has made on the stump out of context. “This is parsing words out of campaign appearances to an unreasonable degree,” Holtz-Eakin said. “He has certainly I’m sure said things in town halls” that don’t jibe perfectly with his written plan. But that doesn’t mean it’s official.

The gaffes just keep on coming.  It’s almost becoming a comedy.

“Almost”? They passed “almost” about a month ago and are deep into knee-slapper territory now.

McCain Ad: FAIL

Posted by Phoenix Woman on July 27, 2008

Good Lord, McCain’s people are so stupid, not even the media can help them. Check this out:

Did you notice?

Mccain’s new ad uses footage of Barack Obama playing basketball with the troops, to argue that he has been ignoring them. I cannot imagine anything more disingenuous…or more stupid.

It’s such a blatant boner that even members of the GOP/Media Complex have noted it. Karen Tumulty did, as did Jake Tapper and Marc Ambinder caught it as well.
