Now That’s What I Call Sustainability!

Posted by Phoenix Woman on September 7, 2008

You are a small-scale pig farmer. Your costs are high because the huge feedlots that are your competitors can afford to have much narrower profit margins per pig than you can. What’s one thing you can do to reduce your costs?

Well, you can feed your pigs grain used by craft beer brewers — grain they normally have to pay someone to take off their hands once it’s played its part in the brewing process. They save on paying a garbage hauler, you get free feed, your pigs are happy, and you help save the earth.

Sounds yummy to me!
