Your Press Corps Inaction

Mr. Gibbs is far nicer to these clowns than I would be:
Fascinating, how the sniveling jerk who tried to shame Gibbs for rightly calling out Cheney never once questioned Cheney’s shameful attacks on President Obama.

Misspelling of “Corps”.
Shouldn’t there be an “e” at the end?

Misspelling of “Corps”, I think.

I clearly recall that when President Carter criticized the invasion of Iraq, the press corpse [hi, Stormcrow!] collectively had the vapors because it is so very, very improper and unacceptable and Just Not Done for a former President to criticize the current Administration. That principle would apply to a Vice President, too. But y’know, Cheney wouldn’t be on TV slamming the Obama Administration and otherwise lying his ass off if he hadn’t been invited. Now it’s not just acceptable but encouraged.

I very nearly spelt it that way, Stormie. ;-)
And yes, MEC, I was indeed thinking of how it’s A-OK for former presidents who are Republicans to criticize Democratic presidents, but it’s never ever ever OK for former presidents who are Democrats to criticize Republican presidents.

It was worse than that, Phoenix Woman. It wasn’t just “how dare that Democratic Former President criticize the Sitting President,” but “Former Presidents have never in the history of the Republic expressed a political opinion after leaving office, and to do so offends against not just civility but morality!”
