This Is Terrorism

Terrorism: Committing acts of violence to intimidate a group of people and advance a political agenda.

Dr. George Tiller, an abortion provider who has been the target of harassment for years, was murdered this morning while going into his church for Sunday services.

This crime must be investigated and prosecuted as a terrorist act.

    Prediction: it will not be.

  2. I’m encouraging people to Spotlight this Oxdown diary> on the subject, in the vain hope that maybe, just maybe, the GOP/Media Complex will stop yammering about the Obamas’ trip to New York City and cover something that’s actually important.

They’ll catch the man, and he’ll be set up as a deranged lone operator who just took things too far. Like the man who drove his truck into the St. Paul Planned Parenthood clinic last January. “He’s just one crazy man. The rest of us deplore such tactics.”

Of course, his home will be filled with Operation Rescue propaganda, he’ll be recognized as a frequent visitor to anti-choice sites, he’ll have a long history with the movement, but that will all be ignored in the rush to call him a loner.

    • Oh, of course. But just check out the dog-whistling that’s shot through Randall Terry’s statement on this:

“George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God. I am more concerned that the Obama Administration will use Tiller’s killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions. Abortion is still murder. And we still must call abortion by its proper name; murder.

Those men and women who slaughter the unborn are murderers according to the Law of God. We must continue to expose them in our communities and peacefully protest them at their offices and homes, and yes, even their churches.”

Note: Tiller was shot at his church during Sunday services. Ironically, that’s probably why the suspect was caught so quickly: Enough friendly witnesses got to see the getaway car and its license plate before the terrorist drove off.

This is very sad. A murderer kills a murderer. Both convinced that they are going good.

Average Joe, by calling Dr. Tiller a “murderer,” you have declared yourself, judge and jury, president and legislature, above the law. Such bloated arrogance is what characterizes the anti-choice movement, which is why it is failing, and forced to resort to violence.

Agree with him or not, Dr. Tiller was a brave man. He was shot before, but he believed in his calling, and so he returned to work. From the stories I’ve heard, his patients regarded him as a saint. The man who shot him was a coward, afraid to face him in a fair fight. And so he spilled blood at a Christian church.

But why should I waste any time telling you these things you so desperately need to hear? It’s just one more drive-by flame by a flaming a–hole.
