Yes, Scott Walker is in trouble

Posted by Charles II on January 17, 2012

From Wisdems:

Right now, volunteers from counties all across Wisconsin are turning in more than 1.9 million signatures to recall Scott Walker, Rebecca Kleefisch and their right-wing cronies in the state legislature.

[Clarification: this is over one million signatures for Walker. The remaining signatures are apparently for the other public officials. Mea culpa.]

They needed 700,000 signatures.

Scott Walker was elected with 1.1 million votes.

And there’s more:

Also up for recall are Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and Sens. Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau, Pam Galloway of Wausau, Van Wanggaard of Racine and Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls.

Someone posted a picture of a Walker creates jobs billboard that had been erected right outside a closed GM plant (10,000 lost jobs). This and other inappropriately placed billboards have been taken down by his campaign.

I also heard he got booed, a lot, when making his MLK Day proclamation.

Really, WI can’t get rid of this turkey any too soon.

I cannot understand why the Midwest, minus Minnesota and Illinois (sort of), elected such a bunch of goofballs. And for the life of me I cannot understand why Michigan Democratic leaders have been such idiots about recalling Mitch Rick Snyder. A bunch of them deserve to be retired.

Before you get too hard on Wisconsin, remember that Minnesota flipped both the House and Senate over to the Republicans in 2010 and that Mark Dayton only won by 8,000 votes over a confirmed wingnut, Tom Emmer, who is now a right-wing radio host.

Why, may you ask? Because there are plenty of voters who think what they hear on said right-wing radio and Fox News, that’s why.

Well, David, anyone who believes what is said on right-wing radio and FOX News is pretty stupid. They constantly say things that fail basic tests of common sense. Like, notably, “fair and balanced.” Just watching/listening to them is a choice, and a bad one.

And I don’t think that Michigan elected Democrats are big viewers of FOX or listeners of Limbaugh, but they (co-blogger excluded) sure are bad at putting up a fight against Snyder.

        FOX Fail

      • The flipping of the Minnesota Lege and other state legislatures is directly attributable to the influence of ALEC and other pro-Republican entities with unlimited money to spend thanks to Citizens United.: http://www.bluestemprairie.com/bluestemprairie/2011/10/deform-20-traveling-alec-medicine-show-if-its-thursday-this-must-be-worthington.html

Michigan’s Democratic leaders are a bunch of goofballs themselves. The former Democratic leader in the Michigan house of representatives is now a member of Snyder’s cabinet. The rest are forgettable. There are no Democratic leaders in Michigan.

So, MEC, just out of curiosity, why aren’t Michiganders primarying them?

I think you’d make a great state rep.

Lets hope this plays out better than it did California.
