Howard Dean would not allow pro-cancer Cliff Stearns to run unopposed

In all the celebration over the Susan G. Komen Foundation flinching in the face of public disapproval, the real perpetrator behind this is going about the attack on Planned Parenthood and breast cancer screening almost unnoticed.
His name is Cliff Stearns. He represents, to that district’s shame, Florida 6.
And he is running unopposed.
My DK diary here.

Here’s why people should oppose Stearns — it was his bogus “congressional investigation” that gave his fellow Republicans at SGK the pretext they needed to defund Planned Parenthood:
Makes me wonder if he’d been planning this from the start and had colluded with Ari Fleischer and his fellow Republicans at SGK to do this.

It certainly does begin to look like an effort from the highest levels of the GOP.
This is why I believe that focusing on Cliff Stearns is so important. If a challenger for his district could be found, it might well force him to back off from attacking PP. A commenter on DK said it reminded him of Chris Rock’s movie, Head of State, where the campaign slogan is “Is Mays Gilliam for cancer or against cancer?”
I’d love to see Cliff Stearns have to face that campaign ad.
