Pat Buchanan is gone from MSNBC.

MSNBC president Phil Griffin said of Buchanan’s departure:

I don’t think the ideas that he put forth are appropriate for national dialogue on MSNBC.

Gee, Phil, what took you so long to figure this out?

Did you notice he claimed Ralph Nader as a supporter?

What is it with Nader that he ends up in a list with “Sean Hannity, Erin Burnett, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Megyn Kelly, and Lou Dobbs” blessing his book?

What he probably meant was that they needed a younger (perhaps prettier) Right-wing nationalist without the racism. T.V. needs pictures of pretty people!

Or, perhaps, the possibility that half the people who used to be our “middle class” now have incomes placing them in the “lower class” means there aren’t enough consumers with enough money to buy the stuff his advertisers sell? We used to be 30/40/30. Now it’s 50/20/30. The upper class is doing just swell. The rest of us, not so much. Which means that a consumer-driven economy is really tanking fast.

Buchanan didn’t have his own show. He was the “rightwing viewpoint” on other people’s shows. So unless advertisers were bailing out because Buchanan appeared on a show (vs. hosting it), that’s not a factor.
