Romney’s Ryan Pick= GOP Can No Longer Pivot Towards Sanity In The General Election

Posted by Phoenix Woman on August 11, 2012

McCain’s 2008 pick of Sarah Palin showed it, and now Romney’s 2012 choice of Paul Ryan proves it: The Republican Party is no longer allowed to pivot towards sanity in the general election for president, but must spend all of their time catering to the crazy base they and their corporate owners have spent decades whipping into craziness via the Southern Strategy.

Sow the crazy racist wind, reap the tremendously crazy racist whirlwind.

And right on cue the haters are coming out of the woodwork. Check out kenny1 at City Pages’ post on Pawlenty:

My response wasn’t very classy, but CP needs to be shamed into removing that garbage.

“The Republican Party is no longer allowed able to pivot towards sanity in the general election for president.”

    Fixed that for you.

Because really, are there any sane Republicans of sufficient prominence to become Presidential or Vice Presidential candidates?

Ironically, Paul Ryan is the saner wing of the GOP.

Richard Viguerie said on Ed that Ryan was too much of a “Washington insider” to be attractive to the base. By which he apparently meant that Ryan does not believe in abolishing the federal government.

One bit of irony is that the Republicans have been claiming that Obama’s “never had a real job” because only working in the for-profit private sector counts as a real job. And Paul Ryan’s entire career has been in politics, so he’s never had a real job, either. So are they going to quietly drop that line of attack, or be blatant hypocrites about it?
