Native jackrabbits are scrawny, these look more inviting.

Maddy Prior’s voice is so beautiful and haunting.
The video reminds me of Terry Pratchett’s I Shall Wear Midnight, in which a hare is significant; and what he wrote about hares in his afterword.

The gist (and I warn you this is a mild spoiler for the book) is that when farmers burn the stubble in their fields after harvest, instead of fleeing the fire by trying to run ahead of it, a hare is smart enough and fast enough to leap into the fire and land behind it on the field that’s already burned and thus safe.
Farmers no longer burn their fields, but Terry learned about the hare running into the fire from an elderly neighbour, whom he wrote about in the afterword.
