McClellan Says He’ll Testify

Posted by MEC on June 10, 2008

Scott McClellan has said he has accepted an invitation to testify before the House Judiciary Committee about the leak of Valerie Plame’s CIA role. The hearing is scheduled for Friday, June 20.

Let’s see Bush claim Executive Privilege to stop McClellan from testifying, after his minions have been out there claiming McClellan was never party to confidential discussions and never got privileged information.

Scott, stay out of small planes, okay?

What a Difference an Election Makes

Posted by MEC on March 19, 2007

Senator Leahy intends to subpoena White House officials to testify in The Case of the Purged Prosecutors.

“I want testimony under oath. I am sick and tired of getting half-truths on this,” said Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt. “I do not believe in this, ‘We’ll have a private briefing for you where we’ll tell you everything,’ and they don’t.”

Leahy said his committee would vote Thursday to issue subpoenas in the inquiry.

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., chair of the House Judiciary Committee, has said he’ll seek a vote this week on issuing subpoenas to Rove and others.

Scooter Libby Is Small Fry

Posted by MEC on March 6, 2007

Over in firedoglake, emptywheel reported:

Fitz was his typical self, not saying more than he could. He will not do a report. Will not file further charges unless something new comes up. He will not give his materials to Congress unless they ask for it (Hey, John Conyers! Did you hear that?) …

I’m thinking that the Honorable John Conyers won’t need a lot of persuasion to hold hearings into the obstruction of justice within the White House.

Here’s his contact information:

Telephone: 202-225-5126
Fax: 202-225-0072

You know what to do.
