Study: Obama’s Stimulus Saved America And Made Rich Richer. So Why Do Rich People Hate Him?

Posted by Phoenix Woman on June 8, 2012

Check out this very interesting study of the effects of the Obama stimulus package.

I’m not bummed out about housing starts still being flat — that was a bubble that needed to be popped.

What I do find interesting is that while most Americans have benefitted mildly — and that the stimulus did save us from a horrific chasm — the people who have reaped the most benefit from Obama are the very folks who are tossing shitloads of money at Mitt Romney.

Go figure.

Stupid And Evil, That’s Our Boehner!

Posted by Phoenix Woman on February 15, 2009

If anybody’s thinking of running against John Boehner next year, here’s some lovely oppo for ya!

Boehner recently uttered this slam against passenger rail spending in the stimulus package:

“Tell me how spending $8 billion in this bill to have a high-speed rail line between Los Angeles and Las Vegas is going to help the construction worker in my district.”

Turns out that 1) there is no line from LA to Vegas and 2) Ohio stands to benefit mightily from high-speed rail.

Journalists in Russia keep getting killed, and newspapers harrassed, as part of Putin’s planned return to the Soviet Union of Stalin and Andropov. But there are a few brave souls still pressing on.

GOP governors urge their fellow Republicans in Congress to pass the stimulus bill. Obama must have had this in reserve to spring on Mitch and Boehner to counter their stonewalling; now Boehner gets to look bad, siding with Rush Limbaugh while the governors side with Obama.

— Speaking of Obama and Congressional Republicans: He’s planning on nominating Judd Gregg, a moderate Republican from New Hampshire, to be his Commerce Secretary. Oh, and New Hampshire just happens to have a Democratic governor — who will be picking Gregg’s successor in the Senate. 60 seats, here we come!
